Mfundo Myende | Field Officer
Mfundo Myende is a Field Officer at the Institute of Natural Resources (INR), where he supports projects focused on sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and community resilience. Based within the Sustainable Food Systems and Livelihoods team, he also contributes to a range of programmes across the organisation, and contributes to the development of practical, community-based solutions that support nature conservation and livelihoods.
Mfundo began his career as a local environmental champion with Liberty NPO and later completed the Groen Sebenza Capacity Building Programme in Natural Resource Management through the Duzi-uMngeni Conservation Trust (DUCT). Through these experiences, he gained valuable skills in environmental management, training support, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Agriculture and has a strong interest in the connections between agriculture, water resources, nature conservation, community development, and sustainable livelihoods. He is passionate about working with communities to develop practical solutions that strengthen resilience while promoting the sustainable use of natural resources.
