The INR was formally responsible for the coordination of the Prolinnova network in South Africa from 2004 to 2010, but Brigid Letty has continued to play an informal role of coordinator since then. Prolinnova is an international network that Promotes Local innovation in ecologically-oriented agriculture and natural resources management. During 2018 she was elected as the chairperson of the ESAPP task team that aims to operationalise the regional platform. More recently, she has been appointed by ACDEPthrough the ProliFANS (Promoting local innovation for Food and Nutrition Security) project, to play the role of Acting Sub-regional Coordinator. Prolinnova promotes participatory approaches to research and development including participatory innovation development (PID). Over the years Brigid has run a number of training courses for NGO staff and government extension officers to develop PID skills that can support local innovation processes in rural communities.
